Just a short message to empower all you acupuncturists out there. A new study done by dr. S. Schroeder et all in Germany shows significant improvement on pheripheral neuropathy.

The result of the therapy was measured in nerve condition and in subjective symptoms. Not only did this study show that there is a positive effect form acupuncture on pheriperal neuropathy, but also that the subjective improvement was correlated with the improvement of the nerve condition.

Self treatment with Triggerpoint Therapy

One question I get a lot from my patients is: ‘What can I do myself?’ There are many possible answers to that, form dietary advise, exercise or just to take 10 minutes out of every day for Rest and Relaxation. But what we use a lot for all kinds of (sport-)injuries is Triggerpoint Therapy.

We’ve had some amazing results in our practices using Triggerpoint Therapy. In example: Patients with epicondylitis, an injury to the tendons attached to the elbow, who have had physiotherapy for over 3 years, were able to relief the pain almost completely. And in time most of them healed for the full 100 % and were able to take up the sports they had to forfeit for years!

Funny acupuncture commercial

In the Netherlands this is already an almost ancient commercial. I had to hear this a lot form my patients. The first text that appears translates as: ‘better call the insurance?’

Vegetarian Diet better for Diabetes

Since we found out that diabetes is related to your diet, all kinds of diet-gurus have arisen to enlighten us towards health. Unfortunately most of those diets have been proven to be not effective or even contra-productive. The good news is that there are some diets that after multiple studies prove to be effective.

Why Modern Acupuncture?

Wow, a new blog: a clean white sheet of virtual paper in front of me. So, what’s this blog all about? Let me first tell you something about myself. After being a physiotherapist for some years, I found out that there are a lot of patients who I couldn’t help in any way. At first I thought it was just my lack of knowledge as a starting therapist. But all the courses I took and studies I did didn’t give me insight in what the real problem was. So I decided there had to be more. And I found it in acupuncture. Read more »
